Sears/Kenmore electric range, West Virginia
Had some excitement yesterday evening. Heated the oven to 400 degrees to bake a pizza which takes maybe 15 minutes to heat and then 19 minutes to bake. About 10 minutes before it was done I noticed some crackling sounds coming from the kitchen. Went to investigate and lo and behold the baking element was on fire so I immediately turned off the oven. Thank goodness that worked. After cooling, we could see the element had broken/burned into two pieces. What gives? After checking some info online I found that other people have experienced the same thing. Rather scary!!! I\\m very disappointed in the Kenmore brand now and may never go back to Sears again. |
