I wish to caution prospective customers of R & D Boat Supply, Inc. 22 Washington Street Cambridge, Maryland 21613 Ensure you get an estimate, if not it will end up the same as giving the owner a blank check. Surely any professional who is in the business long enough should be able to give an estimate within 10%. I have a 21 foot boat and asked for an estimate on some of the simple work such as the installation of VHF antenna, mounting a VHF radio, install a transom transducer, etc. He said he was unable to give any estimate. Well, the bill came to $9, 725.83. Shocked isn\\t the word for it especially since he prefers not to take credit cards. Trust me you should protect yourself and demand an estimate. Had I thought I was going to pay $9, 725.83 I would have curtailed some of the work. Another example of watching your pennies --he configured a system which was absurd so I asked him to redesign it. |
