Emalahleni Local Municipality
The Emalahleni Local Municipality charges people on Water and Electricity falsely. My electricity got disconected for non-payment in june.I moved out of the house at the end of june and on the 2nd of August I paid the W&E account in full(R9459).I called to get my electricity reconeccted as I was expecting a tenant to move in to the house.The people at the municipality said that they would send someone out to reconnect me. This did not happen.I called again to find out why I have not been reconnected and I was told that I owe an amount of R700. I asked how as there had been no one in the house since I paid the full amount in August.I was moved from one person to the other.When I asked for name or a reference number the people were rude and refused to give me these.I was then cut off. When I called again the lady I spoke to said I must understand about the bill since I live in the suburbs. Am I being punished for living in a certain part of town.I was then transffered to a certain to Mr Niemand who the Who was very rude but said he would send someone out to reconnect me. The employees at the municipality need to learn how to deal professionally with customers.
